Ethan Meirow
Ethan Meirow is a senior majoring in Food Science with a minor in Microbiology. He transferred to NC State after completing his A.S. at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. Ethan's love of food science stems from his severe food allergies, which sparked his curiosity in the kitchen, and later, the lab. Within the club, he is active in product development, helping to bring several products to market this year. He also serves as the chair for the Outreach and Publicity Committees.

Sarah Yang

Seoyoung “Sarah” Yang was born and raised in South Korea. Sarah loves studying food science because it is so fascinating to see how the knowledge could be easily applied to food products that we interact with on a daily basis. Sarah also loves how numerous companies of the food and beverage industry are progressively promoting a vision of sustainable development, although she believes that we still have a long way to go. As a junior majoring in Food Science and Bioprocessing Science with a minor in Nutrition, Sarah has worked as a Biological Science Aide at the USDA-ARS Food Science Research Unit under Dr. Fred Breidt. Her favorite hobby is drawing, so feel free to ask her for a simple portrait!

Agricultural Life
Representatives
Bhavana Uppili
I am doing my second masters here at NC State. I am part of the USDA Pickle lab where I am focusing my research efforts towards employing microwave and high-pressure processing for the manufacture of pickled vegetables. Prior to this, I have worked with the industry for 3 years in an R&D/Product Development role. Right from ideation of a new concept, formulation, process development and standardization, to studying shelf life and commercialization, I have as many as 15 products in Indian and overseas markets to my credit. As the Agri-life representative of Food Science Club this year, I plan to bring forth as many opportunities for all of us to be one with nature! I am an approachable person who enjoys interacting with people. Hit me up to join you for food or basketball!
