Meet the Executive Board
Academic Year 2021-2022
Neel is a senior majoring in Food Science - Technology Concentration, along with minors in Business Administration and Business Entrepreneurship. He notes "coming into the NCSU FBNS department has been one of the best decisions that I have made because I grew up in a community where the impact of food is immense, and the department allows me to engage in activities that are associated with our everyday lives." His goals include continuing to develop as a productive member of the food industry and, most importantly, giving back to the community that has blessed him with so much.
Angela is currently a Master’s student majoring in Food Science, and working on her thesis research in the NC Research Campus in Kannapolis. She earned her first Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting in Dublin, Ireland, and a second Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition Science in Atlanta, Georgia.

Zara is majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and is currently earning her certificate in Interdisciplinary Entrepreneurship. Long term, she is interested in product development and ideation. Having previously worked in social sales, run her own food blog, and attended The Culinary Institute of America, she brings her knowledge of marketing, website development, and the culinary world to the team.
Dr. Santos is a faculty in food science who teaches Pre- and Post-Harvest Food Safety, Food Packaging, and Food Product Development, in addition to the Senior Design Course for senior students in the Food and Bioprocessing Sciences programs. Her research background focuses on foodborne disease, food safety and microbiology. She enjoys nature as much as helping students to be successful in their endeavours.
